Dr. Ariadne (Ariana) Daniel
Physician
Reproductive Endocrinologist &
Infertility Specialist
Dr. Daniel was born at the University of Alberta Hospital and raised in Edmonton. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree with special training in research at the University of Alberta. She also pursued a five-year residency there in Obstetrics and Gynecology becoming a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC). She completed further training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) at Mount Sinai Hospital through the University of Toronto. She worked at the public clinic at the Royal Alexandra Hospital until its closure then at the Pacific Center for Reproductive Medicine (PCRM) in Edmonton. She left her practice, and then drawn to the patient-centered vision of infertility care, she became involved in the realization of Alberta Reproductive Centre (ARC).
Dr. Daniel has an active interest in research and medical education. She is an Associate Professor at the University of Alberta and is involved in teaching medical students, residents, and family physicians. She has won numerous distinctions, scholarships and grants. Her clinical and research interests include ovulation induction in Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), transgender health, and improving clinical outcomes in Assisted Reproductive Technology.
In her free time, you will find her sketching, dancing, or outside exploring nature with her family.
Dr. Jinglan Han
Physician
Reproductive Endocrinologist &
Infertility Specialist
After studying as a Chancellor’s Club scholar at the University of Calgary, Dr. Jinglan Han completed Medical School and Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Alberta, where she was awarded the Peter Mitchell Award for her clinical research. She then completed a Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) at the University of Toronto, Mount Sinai Hospital. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Obstetrics and Gynecology, with Subspecialty certification in Gynecologic Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
Dr. Han’s clinical and research interests include Elective Egg Freezing, Fertility Preservation and techniques in Assistant Reproductive Technology (ART). She has contributed to a textbook of Oncofertility and publications on decision making surrounding fertility preservation. Her current practice also encompasses Recurrent Pregnancy Loss, PCOS, and surgical management of Infertility.
Dr. Han has presented her work at both the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society (CFAS) and the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) annual conferences. She currently serves on the REI Committee of the Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Canada (SOGC).
Prior to joining us, Dr. Han was an Assistant Professor at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, where she maintained a busy clinical practice while teaching Medical Students and Residents. She continues this position at the University of Alberta, and feels privileged to contribute to Medical Education at her alma mater.
Away from the office, you will find Dr. Han trying to keep up with her four kids. She is happy to join the team at Alberta Reproductive Centre and is committed to supporting patients in their journeys to create their families.
Dr. Andrea Freitas

Women’s Health
Specialist
Dr. Freitas received her medical degree from the University of Calgary in 2014. She completed her Family Medicine residency training at the University of Alberta in 2016 and went on to practice family medicine with a special interest in women’s health. She developed a passion for providing fertility care and minor procedures.
Dr. Freitas appreciates the importance of a compassionate and holistic approach to her patient’s fertility care. She strives to understand her patient’s challenges and priorities in their fertility journeys. Dr. Freitas is excited to join a team where so much thought has gone into improving patient relationships and experiences.
As a mom to two boys she likes to stay active with her family, travel, and work on her golf swing. When Dr. Freitas is not at ARC, she has a busy inpatient practice and leadership role with Covenant Health.
Dr. Phil Bach
Physician
Male Reproductive Medicine & Microsurgery Specialist
Dr. Phil Bach did his undergraduate training at McGill University before pursuing his medical degree and specialty training in Urology at the University of Alberta. He then completed a fellowship in Male Reproductive Medicine and Microsurgery at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City.
Upon finishing his training, he was appointed Assistant Professor in the Division of Urology at the University of Alberta. His main urological practice is based out of the Dianne and Irving Kipnes Urology Centre and the University of Alberta Hospital. Dr. Bach is board-certified in
Urology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the American Board of Urology.
Dr. Bach’s clinical and research areas of expertise are in male factor infertility and sexual dysfunction. He has published numerous scientific papers and book chapters and presented his research at national and international conferences. He also enjoys teaching all levels of medical learners both directly and via the development of educational tools.
